Vientiane to Pakxe by Boat

    Very simple question:

    I have to travel to Pakxe almost immediately after arriving in Vientiane. Can I make the whole trip -- save for the times when I visit a river town for food and whatnot -- by boat?

    No. That ended years ago. All night sleeper bus.
