Anyone ever ride a bicycle from Vientiane to the Buddha Park? I know it is about 20 km and the bus takes about 1 hour, but sounds like a great bike trip. Is it a difficult ride?
We have not found a good map of the area. Is it easy to find the way?
Also, any other recommendatiuons for longer bike rides around Vientiane?
It's not a difficult ride at all -- and easy to find the way, though the best bit is after passing the bridge across to Thailand as before that the traffic is a little heavy.
There may be a back way using minor roads, though I don't know if that is the case -- would suggest asking around once in Vientiane .
Longer bike rides -- you could go further east to Ban Pako and hang out there for a day or three and visit the National park etc -- Ban Pako is around 50km from Vientiane .
