Sorry if this has been posted before.
I want to fly from Luang Prabang to Hanoi sometime in the first 2 weeks of June '09. The tickets on laoairlines.com are $180 US. Is it cheaper to buy them when I'm in Laos?

Any idea if the flights book up fast? Not sure how long we want to leave LP. Wondering if we could choose to leave within a couple of days notice.

I can only share my experience ... We are flying from Vientiane to Siam Reap in a few days. I looked at the prices on line while in Thailand and it appeared that the fare was $220 USD per person. When we got to Luang Prabang, we asked at a travel agent. There were very few seats left. (We got the last 2 seats on the day we're flying and the day before and after were full.) The tickets were $160 USD per person. That's more than "a bit" cheaper in my opinion. It was worth waiting, even though we had to fly one day later than we wanted. Also, perhaps the VTE-REP route is more congested because of the failure of SR airlines? Cheers.

I have always saved a few bucks by buying lao air tickets in VTE as opposed to the internet VTE-BKK on internet $173 in VTE $110 as soon as you get to VTE go down to thier office and check, its on the road from the fountain to Fa Ngum rd across the street from BCEL bank and next door to Lane Xang hotel, just try to book a couple of days ahead, VTE to LP does fill up most of the time, as does VTE BKK and be flexible
