suggestions for travel from Luang Namtha to Luang Prabang

    Hi,
    We will be in Luang Namtha for a few days and then making our way at beginning of March to Luang Prabang and have about 8 days before we then fly to Hanoi. Would really like to get your suggestions on how to route this and how much time it will take. We would love to include Phongsali but think that might be too much for the time we have.We're also wondering about going via Muang Khua and Nong Khiaw and not sure if its possible to do a combo of some bus and some boat. We'll be doing this at beginning of March and would love to hear from those who have traveled in these areas at this time of year.

    Hi paradise,

    With eight days I'd be leaning towards including Nong Kiaow / Muang Ngoi in your trip -- they're terrific destinations and then you're last leg into Luang Prabang is by boat.
