I only have four days in Laos. Vientiane is a necessary stop. I plan to stay overnight here then fly to Luang Prabang the next day. In that case, I will miss Vang Vieng. Do you think Vang Vieng is worthwhile to see? Pls help. Thanks.

Welcome to Travelfish!
If you only have four days and are already planning on spending some of that time in Vientiane and Luang Prabang I'd say definetly skip Vang Vieng.
Aside from Vang Vieng being a serious tourist trap, you're just not going to have the time to make the stop worthwhile.

I'd second that. We were just in Vang Vieng a few weeks ago, and it was a fun overnight stop for us. But, I definitely would not want to give up a day in Luang Prabang to visit Vang Vieng. Plus, you'll save another half a day by flying from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Just skip VV, and have a great time in Luang Prabang. Cheers.
