Can anyone recommend a hotel with a pool in Luang Prabang? Also, this may be a silly question, but is it typical to swim in the Mekong River?

Hi Julie,
What budget are you considering?
Many of the locals bathe in the Mekong daily, but I wouldn't say foreigners swim in in regularly.

We're looking to spend under $40 per night...
We'll be travelling with our seven year old son & thought a pool might be fun!

You won't get a pool for this price julie.
Some of the more exclusive hotels let you use their pools for a fee.
