    How long does it take on the train to go from Vientiane to Bangkok?

    Hi,

    It's not (yet) possible to go all the way by train. You have to make your way either to Thanaleng Station on the Lao side 13 km out of Vientiane or just across the border to Nong Khai in Thailand and go from there. In any case, the trip from Nong Khai to Bangkok is around 12 hours. See http://www.seat61.com/Laos.htm for details.
