    Hi,

I have looked into flights from Hanoi to Laos and they are very expensive. Does anyone know the best bus route and border crossings as an alternative. I have heard this option is very time consuming but I would like to know more.

Look forward to the feed back.

You'll find details on the overland routes in the visa and border crossing FAQ.

Assuming the north-west/south is a possible travel route option, go read:

There you'll see that overland travel is time consuming. If time is Ok, go see:

There are other posts (some 6 months or so ago, that talked about travel between Vientiane and Hue (to Hanoi). It appeared straightforward, but again, time consuming.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

wow, I think I'm exhusted from reading all those experiences.....flying definitely sounda like the best option as I'm sure I will come across plenty of interesting bus adventures during my 2 month stay in South East Asia. Thanks for your feed back.
