Hi, I'll be going to Laos early next year and I was wondering if there are any Internet Cafes in Savannakhet, Laos at all or one near it at least or is it best to bring my laptop? Thanks.

I´ve travelled through Tokio, Bangkok and Vietnam - and Laos will be next. I´ve got my netbook with me and haven´t regretted it. Most of the hotels (of the flashpacker variety) have free wi-fi and it´s much easier/safer to upload photos to your blog or do internet banking from your own computer.

Plenty of internet cafes in Savanakhet. Dao Cafe is the nicest - albeit the network wasn't all that stable (hence not reliable). Wifi at the guesthouses, though, I don't know. Not much "flashpacker" in Savankhet. Certainly the place I stay at (180 baht a night, so not flashpacker) did not.
