border crossing at Sop Hao

    Has anyone used the border crossing at Sop Hao recently? We are heading from northern Laos to Hanoi & the route sounds quite interesting but I want to check that they are letting foreigners through - & get any tips for a smooth(er) passage.

    This border has not opened for foreigners on 3/22 2010.

    Now i'm in Moc Chau in Viet Nam and yesterday i visited Cong An office in Moc Chau from Mai Chau for confirming whether we foreigners cross border at Pa Hang (border crossing between Sam Neua and Moc Chau) for entering Sam Neua region but their reply(including highclass officers) was still NOT AVALABLE.
    So in reverse route we will be not be able to enter into Viet Nam without some pre "special allowance".
