Just booked a ticket for this train...apparently you can get the visa both at the station (if you get a connecting train) or at the Friendship Bridge crossing. Not sure which one I'll do yet, but I'll let you know how it goes!

You might want to check out this link - it says yes, visas on arrival available at the train station.

I'm heading from Nepal to Laos (via BKK) and just wondering how much the train is roughly as it maybe cheaper to go via plane from BKK.
