Luang Prabang to Hanoi

    Hi ,
    great website.
    We are travelling in november from Changmai to Luang Prabang to Hanoi.
    We have the routes except the one from Luang Prabang to Hanoi. Is there a border crossing? Which? Mode of transport (not flight) and the cost (if possible)? how long is the travelling time?

    appreciate any suggestions.

    Welcome to Travelfish -- glad you're finding it useful.

    If you take a look at this post on visa crossings, you'll see all the major crossings summarised. The NamCan / Nam Khan crossing is probably the most popular route, heading to Vietnam via Phonsavan. It's a long trip -- around 4 hours from Phonsavan to the border and at least another eight to Vinh.
