Will Pakse airport close again in 2010?

    We are planning to go to Laos in July 2010.

    When enquiring for a room, we got the following message from the hotel we were planning to stay: "It {Pakse airport} is expected to close again by the end of Aprils/2010 and reopen on Oct/2010(6 month) for renovation." although they mentionned they were not sure yet.

    The airport has just reopened and I had not read anything about a new closure so far, does anybody has more information on a new closure?

    News to me. It seems a bit all over the place as it wasn't expected to reopen until January, so perhaps they've done a rush job now to get it open for "season" then will close again in the wet to do more work on it.

    At worst, if closed you'll be diverted to Savannakhet and bused from there.
