So I and some friends plan on leaving Bangkok on Thursday evening or Friday morning (04/05-03-2010) and flying from BKK to Udon Thani . Then getting a limo-bus from Udon Thani to Vang Viene. I think you need to go via Vientiane but I'm trying to get to Vang Viene as quickly as possible. I have to be back in BKK on Monday afternoon so I would need an early flight back from Udon Thani to BKK. Assuming I can get there on the Thursday and get back on the Monday morning I would have three full days in Vang Viene. Can anyone advise on this? Is it doable? Anyone done anything similar? Any ideas on how long the buses take? Do they run through the night?
