My name is Neil. One of the proprietors at Pan's Place Guesthouse which used to be called Vieng Chaleun Guesthouse. I have contacted you before about updating the listing on your site. You did make a small change of saying the guesthouse has changed its name but the information about the guesthouse still refers to Viang Chaleun ..and is not relevant as we have made a lot of changes to the place. Andrew, from lonely planet came and visited us about 2 months ago so I was expecting this site to have been updated by now. Can you tell me if you are intending to correct the information soon or would you like me to post you some info myself.

Hi Neil,

Ok we've deleted the previous listing and we'll add in a new listing when we revisit Vang Vieng -- which will happen in the next few months as we've had to rejig our research schedules for Laos. Andrew may well have visited you about two months ago, but we'll have updated info on Vang Vieng available online long before the new Lonely Planet comes out.

In the meantime, feel free to add a description of your place to this thread.

Pan's Place, Vang Vieng, Laos

Pan and Neil have been running this guesthouse for the last 18 months. We have painted the building Yellow and have a Yin Yang symbol on our sign so we are easy to find on the main road in Vang Vieng just 200 metres from the bus stop. We have good, clean rooms from 20,000 Kip (about $2) to 40,000 kip ..the more expensive having your own bathroom and hot shower. We have a TV room and a cafe, rent mountain bikes and motorbikes and do laundry.
We do our best to make you feel at home with a good communal atmosphere and slightly mad but friendly staff.
Just recently Neil's son, Eli has come over and he and some friends have built a bar out back called Jeska Bar. It is a bit like being at a back garden party at your mates place with lots of drinking games, good "kiwi" style buffet meals, a small pool to jump in , table tennis, and a movie theatre with the biggest screen in Vang Vieng. And of course a good fire to sit around.
Basically if you come to Pan's Place you never need to leave..except of course to go tubing...
