Border crossing at Tet 2012

    We are traveling north in Laos, hoping to cross the border at Tay Trang and arriving in Dien Bien Phu on January 23, 2012, the beginning of Tet. We have a some questions about what is possible and would really appreciate some advice.
    Will we be able to cross on January23?
    Will we need to pay extra as it is a holiday? (We already have a visa)
    Will we be able to get transport and accommodation in Dien Bien Phu?
    Will it be easy to fly to HCMC?
