The Beuay Kok Jieng Guesthouse is located right next to the Mekong River in a quiet area of the Ban Vat That neighbourhood to the south west of the center of Luang Prabang (it's an easy 5-10 min walk into town). We stayed here for seven nights from 28th December 2007 to 4th January 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room is well equipped with hot water, air-con, fan, satellite TV etc., and was excellent value for $25. The sheets were nice and clean, and the room and common areas were cleaned every day. The manager, Mimee (Tel: 856-71-212-343), speaks good English, which was a big help. If you're looking for a place that's a bit more comfortable than a budget guest house, then this one is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.
