Day trip to Taman Negara... advice please!

    Hey,

    We are looking to travel to Taman Negara from KL on the sleeper train to Jerantut, and then taking the bus to Kuala Tahan. Spending the day there, and then returning that night to Jerantut to get the sleeper back to KL... this seems to be possible, but I have a few questions and hope you guys can help!

    Firstly, if we choose to get the bus there from KL (as the sleeper arrives at 3.30am!), it will get us to the jetty for about 9.30am. Will this get us there in time for the boat trip into the park?

    Once we are in the park, can we just do our own thing or should we/could we join a group?

    If we decide to take a boat trip upstream, what can we expect to see, and will that leave us enough time to return to get our train back (which leaves at midnight)?

    Is there anything else we should know?
