Could anyone please advise on the best way to travel straight from Langkawi to Singapore. It will be on the 6th or 7th December and I cant seem to find a cheap flight so was hoping for an overnight bus/train. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try www.viaSingapore.com - it searches all the local airlines. Silk Air and AirAsia fly this route. A quick search on AirAsia shows $85 (inc. taxes/fees) on December 7th which is very reasonable.
Otherwise, Langkawi is an island so it's going to be a combination of boat/bus (which is never that fast). Bus tickets do not need to be booked far in advance (and are hard to book online), so I would suggest finding a travel agent (even your hotel should be able to help) once you're in Langkawi and they'll book you a ticket.
