Hello, im landing in kuala lumpar and planning on spending a few days here and catching a train into thailand, and attempt to make our way into thailand to ko samui
Is there a route which would be easy to take via train then by coach?

Styraightforward train from KL north to Butterworth then through Hat Yai and up to Surat Thani. Train station is a little out of town, but the transfer from there to the islands is straightforward.

It is a little longer but if you wanted a beautifuk journey then you could go via Jerantut and take the Jungle Railway. Seat61 say its one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. It is certainly beautiful.
