Hi! I'm having a short holiday (2-3 weeks) and spending part of it here in the Philippines, been in Manila for 4 days now and would like to make a short trip somewhere (no idea where since I haven't done much research about the country because this whole trip so spontaneous) . I have a friend here in Manila but she is not able to travel with me so now I'm looking for potential travel buddies to make a short trip (a week or so) to a nice beach or any other place that is less hectic than Manila! I was thinking about going to the north, or then flying to Palawan and head to El Nido which is supposed to be amazing. Let me know if you are around! I'm a finnish girl, easy-going and relaxed!

have you gone in Pangasinan, Bolinao,Pangasinan specifically, they have great beaches there. It's located northwestern of region 1,aside from beaches,a 400 year old church is also located there and the 2nd tallest lighthouse in the philippines.

I would love to but my schedule right now is quite tight. Had I known it earlier, I could have done some changes. I'm dying of flying to El Nido as well. Went to Palawan twice but only explored Puerto Princesa, though I've already visited the breathtaking site of Underground River.
Good luck and have fun!

Good luck if you will drive the Halsema road from Banaue to Sagada. If the weather is bad its a nightmare drive with sheer cliff on one side and sheer drops on the other and frequent landslides.Maybe not as bad as that infamous road in Bolivia but its on the same list! If the weather is fine the scenery is some of the most spectacular and breathtaking that you will find anywhere.

What I love about Manila is the Intramuros. It's very scenic, a great place with incredible history.
