Posted by RACHYPF on 11/2/2014 at 09:06

Hey anyone got any recommendations for whale shark swimming other than Donsol in March aiming to go to Bohol from Manila without going to Legazpi, cant seem to get flight from Legazpi to Bohol, or does anyone know of a fast ferry service from Donsol to Bohol, Thanks!

You can swim with the whalesharks in Oslob - Tan-a-wan, 3 hours south of Cebu. But if you go to Bohol, they also organise these trips from Alona Beach (which is 2 hrs by boat from Oslob).

If you want to do the cheaper version, travelling by yourself and have a little more time, you can take a bus from the south terminal Cebu to Oslob (Tan-awan) about 3 hrs. for 155 pesos. Sleep at a place like Chateau de Tan Awan, good private room for 450 pesos, walk to the whale watch site next morning. Swimming with the whalesharks for 30 min. is 1000 pesos. Take the bus back to Cebu south terminal (every hour I think), from there you can take a cheap taxi to the pier (70 p) or the airport (320 p).
