I'll be in Laos for most of February next year and my visit will include Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and hopefully a river trip along the Nam Tha. I am a keen photographer of landscapes, people, local life etc so can anybody suggest any must-do viewpoints, views or local scenery ?

    Hi Talisman,

    Welcome to Travelfish!

Well, Laos is so photogenic, it's difficult to pick out some must-sees -- the Nam Tha trip is a great one -- both for the scenery and the villages enroute. Also the scenery between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang is great - as is anything on the river -- I'll stop now as otherwise will just list the whole country...

    Hi Paul,

New player. How's it going? This may be a matter of semantics, but while one could do this trip in 5 days, I don't think it is near enough to do it justice. I think you'd want at least 8 days, and even more really if you had the time available. Regards.

Stroll through the markets in Laos and snap lots of photos. You'll find loads of culture and color, including local people, textiles and handicrafts, not to mention a few pig heads and other delicacies.
