Hi everyone
Are cameras cheap in Thailand, if so approx how much cheaper and where's the best place to buy?. We're only looking at the US$250 mark so not highend prices. Trying to decide whether to buy one on special here or wait.
Kind regards
Marian

Morning Marian!
Panthip Plaza in Bangkok is a good spot for digital camera, but also any department store -- eg Emporium on Sukhumvit road - will have a good range of sub 10,000B cameras.
Not sure if it is much cheaper though -- maybe a touch cheaper. I'd lean towards picking one up in Oz as then if there's a problem with the camera you'll be covered by warranty etc.

Hi Marian,
I recently purchased one of these
I very happy with it.
You can get them cheaper than listed on this web site though.
I ordered mine online and got it for $400.
Cheers,
Tim

Not sure if that link works.....
The Brand is Sony and the model is DSCW70S
You may also want to upgrade the standard memeory stick that comes with the camera, add around $80 for that.

Thanks guys
We just bought a Canon PowerShot 540 6MP, 4X zoom, 2.5" LCD 16MB SD card online for AUD$320. We're not actually camera people but Chris, my husband wants one for his artwork.
Regards
Marian

This info might be usefull for those who's going to Hong Kong.
I bought my DSC N1 Sony Cyber Shot, digital pocket camera. 8.1 MP
According to tsargood's link it's 829 AUD, turned out I bought my camera for only 650 AUD in Hong Kong.
And still working good btw.. :-)
