i am travelling from phuket over kl to singapore and would like to do a (half-)day trip to indonesia. just for me (and maybe the stamp in the passport). any recommendations if it is better to start the trip from kl or from singa? what prices do i have to expect for the trip and how much is the indo-visa?

From KL your only choice is to fly to Jakarta or Bali. You can do that reasonably cheaply on Air Asia. From Singapore you can fly to Jakarta or Bali too, but there's also the ferry option. If you just want to do a half day trip to Indo this would make sense. You can catch the boats to either Batam or Bintan. Approx 45 minutes, S$25. What passport do you hold?
