Thanks Somtam, I emailed the hotel before posting here got an answer this morning, as above it is no. Although the theory is use them or lose them, the old knees don't handle stairs too well any more, and a climb to a room is one climb too many in a day of sightseeing.

I don't know murwill16 -- I can't remember! The hotel is just three or four floors from memory, so it may not have a lift, though I'm not sure.
