Bangkok already has BTS (skytrain), MRT (underground) and now there's BRT too (bus rapid transit).
"Bangkok governor Sukhumbhan Baripatra on Saturday morning presided over a function to start operation of the first rapid transit system in Bangkok-the bus rapid transit (BRT), report said.
The first BRT runs between Sathorn and Ratchapruek. It will provide free riding service from 1am today to August 31.
From September 1, 2010, the BRT fee will be set at ten baht through the route for four months.
The BRT will start providing full-scale service from January 2, 2011. The fee then will depend on traveling distance, starting from 12 baht to 24 baht."
