I will be arriving in Bangkok monday night around midnight and was wondering if I should reserve a room ahead of time. From what I have read many guesthouses do not take reservations. Would I be ok to just show up on Kho San Road and be able to find something at that time of night..or is that ill advised
you'll be fine - there's over a hundred places to stay in the area - and things are not packed (yet). Some places do take reservations so if you wanna do that you shouldn't have too much trouble.

when is your trip?
in most case, shouldn't be a problem to find a room in khao san road area. also depend on what kind of accomodation you're looking for.
you may visit www.khaosanroad.com for some useful info.
