    Hi!

Myself and four of my friends are looking at doing New Years Eve in either Koh Phangan or Samui and am in need of some advice!

It seems that most of the places on Haad Rin and even Ban Tai/Kai are getting close to, or already are sold out. The few places I can see that remain are overly expensive and have 6 - 10 night minimum stays, plus the gala dinners.

We arrive in Samui late on the 27th of December and I'm planning to be leaving Samui on the 2nd. I'm not sure if it will be worth just staying on Samui for the whole time (which would be cheaper?) and catching the ferry across just for the new years party. OR staying one of the beaches further out from Haad Rin?

Any and all advice is most welcomed! even if someone knows about new years parties on Samui that would be awesome to know too!

There is an east coast ferry starts at Thong Nai Pan and calls in at all the beaches down to Had Rin East and then goes to Samui. Which means you could stay virtually anywhere on the east coast - go down to the party - and return next day. Sure are some nice beaches north of Had Rin on the east coast.
