Bangkok - where is the seedy neighbourhoods?

    Hi all.
    Trying to figure out where to stay in Bangkok.
    For those most familiar with the in's and out's - where are the 'seedy' neighbourhoods? I am a female that will be travelling solo...

    Hi jg,

    The three main, and best known seedy areas aimed at westerners are:
    Patpong (towards the eastern end of Silom Road)
    Nana (Sukhumvit Soi 4)
    Soi Cowboy (off Sukhumvit Soi 23)

    There's also Ratchadaphisek Rd which is lined with karaoke bars and brothels, but you're less likely to find yourself in that part of town (unless you're looking for karaoke bars and brothels!)
