We arrive in Surat Thani very early in the morning (about 4-5am) and would like to get to Khao Lak on the same day. Does anyone know the best way to achieve this and how long the trip takes? We will stay one night in Khao Lak before heading to Ko Similan.
Ideally, we would like to get to the Similans the same day but this does not appear possible, though if anyone knows a way to do this that would be great!
After three days on the Similans we would like to get to Phi Phi on the same day if possible. I understand that the boats leave early from the SImilans back to Khao Lak. COuld we get a bus to Krabi and a boat to Phi Phi on the same day and, say, arrive on Phi Phi by 6pm?

There are local buses from Surat to Khao Lak . You wamt to get on a Phuket bound bus. But make sure that is goes through Khao Lak as there are 2 routes to Phuket. The bus will say right on it if it's going via Khao Lak. If you are arriving at 4-5am you can get the first bus. The journey takes around 2 1/2 hours.
For Krabi again you want to get a Phuket bus but get off in Khok Kloy. From here you then get a Krabi bus. Not sure if you can get the boat the same day. It depends what time you arrive back from the Similans. You should also think about getting a boat to Phi Phi from Phuket.
