Hey Im flying into Bangkok on the 16th of October 2011 on my own, I'm going to be there for about 3 nights then heading down to the Islands for about 10 days, not sure which ones but hopefully a few. I've already been to PhiPhi, Samui, Phuket and Phan Ngan and would love to go back to all of them and more!! Is anyone else heading over in october??

Have you tried http://www.couchsurfing.org/. I've met some amazing people here in Bangkok through this site. It's a mixture of people passing through and others living here so give it a try. The name derives from the fact you sleep on someones couch.
