AFP and the BBC are reporting at least four bombs in Bangkok. BBC is reporting that police have cancelled all New Years celebrations.
By all reports the bombs were small in size, though there are some reports of at least two dead. Thai police reports are saying it is an "internal affair", bombs went off by the Democracy Monument and in the Khlong Toei part of time.
Not more to report at this stage -- but probably a good idea to flick on the TV if you're planning on heading out tonight.
Just an update, there were more bombs later in the evening, some of which the press are saying were aimed at tourists -- especially the one at Central World, which did seriously injure some foreigners -- one of whom has had their leg amputated.

The best round-up I've seen so far of events is post 313 on this ThaiVisa thread.
The report of a bomb in the Buddy Beer Plaza on Khao San Road turned out to be a false alarm.
There's been two Thais confirmed deaths so far.
