I posted lots of useful info then get banned for making a joke about picking up in 7/11 and didnt even use any rude words. Very very strange.

If you want to grow the website excessive moderation isnt the way to go. Only makes the place dead.

This forum has been quiet for years. Now I know why.

Just a thought - perhaps people don't find your jokes funny.

Thanks for the advice on growing the forum - I'll be sure to take that on board.

khwaja's last post was a great joke as well and again he didn't use rude words.

Apparently the site is busy enough for him to take offence in being banned and even posting that. He must be out of places to post.
Only shows that the moderation policy is just fine.

in the five years i've been contributing to this board, i've only seen a very few people get booted. in every case i know, the banned person pointedly refused multiple requests to post per the forum rules. i have a great deal of confidence in somtam's fairness and judgement, and if i had to choose between him and khawaja/krabiman/travelrock, it is no contest. somtam wins hands down every time. cheers.

I didn't think Bruce should have been banned, as he had a tremendous amount of experience. Sure, he could be caustic, but he was also very well informed on a lot of travel experience. Wilko has been allowed to roam and insult at will (not that I care - I don't) far in excess of anything Bruce ever did. Otherwise, though, I agree that Stuart has done a very good job.

Picking up? Is that some kind of knock knock joke? I think Bruce's sin was arguing with the mods, usually a bad idea.

Is there a fall off in postings and by extension tourist traffic to SEAsia?

Wait, how do you pick up in 7/11?

I thought Robinson's was supposed to be the place to go?
