Mae Hong Son town - hotels

    Hi all

    We are travelling around Thailand in August 2011 and one place we want to spend about 3 nights in is Mae Hong Son to visit the hill tribes and generally take in the area.

    Can anyone recommend a decent hotel in MHS that is not miles away from anywhere. Many of the booking sites do not give a good enough description of actual location or vicinity.

    Just the other day we nearly booked a hotel in Pai instead of MHS and this probably would have been expensive to get to from MHS airport.

    Any tips at all for hotels or sightseeing too would be appreciated.

    Have you looked at the accommodation section for Mae Hong Son on this site? There's a few downtown options listed though I'd say little need to book ahead for MHS.
