Hello, I will be landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport just before 12:00 A.M. and I need to be at Khao San Road bus terminal to catch a 6:00 A.M. bus to Lomprayah ferries and finally Koh Tao.
What is the best way to get to the bus terminal during that time? Also, where is the bus terminal from Khao San Road? Is it easy to find?
Thank you!

Personally I'd slow down cowboy. Unless your flight is coming in from Hong Kong or Singapore, you're going to be tired. Take a day to transition (or two or three if you can) before pressing on on a long, crappy bus ride.

Hi Knigel,
There is no Khao San Road Bus Terminal. I think the buses for this company leave from the Lomprayah office on Tanao Road, which runs perpendicular to Khao San Road. Very easy to find, even for people who have never been before.
If you get a cab from the airport, ask to be dropped off right at their office. You'll be there about 3 or 4 hours ahead of time, but at least you'll know where it is. The company has a map on its website that you can print off and give to the cab driver.
Good luck.

there are busses that run from the airport to Tanao Road. The bus number is AE2 i think. That bus will drop you right outside the office/hut from the next bus
hope this helps

I'm not 100% sure but I think the express airport buses that splash69 mentioned stop running at midnight.

as #3 said, there is no 'Khao San Road bus terminal'. not sure which company's arranging the bus you're going to take. although Lomprayah doesn't seem to have the same negative reputation as other private buses operating out of Khao San Road, you might still wish to be on the safe side & keep all your valuables on yourself (i.e. only stuff that you can afford to lose goes into cargo) during the journey.
as #5 said, the airport express buses (incl AE2) that #4 mentioned stop running at midnight. & according to the official airport website (there are many non-official ones!), these buses will be discontinued w.e.f. 1st June 2011.

I would recommend you the best way is to get taxi either the taxi counter at the airport or taxi that run around.
The taxi counter available 24 hour at the counter located at Platform of Passenger Terminal on the 1st Floor, Gates 4 and 7. This they will go for meter + 50 THB driver fee + toll way

yes take a taxi from the airport. Should be about 350THB including highway fees
The bus youre getting sounds like the lomprayah bus which is probably the best/most organised/professional standards bus option going for travelling south.

What about the airport rail link?
I haven't seen many posts about that and I recently used it and was quite happy about it.
For 35 Baht you're in Bangkok (Makkasan). Connection to MRT and skytrain is possible although not opitmal at the moment. But you could easily get off at Makkasan and take a taxi from there and this should save a considerable amount of money compared to an airport taxi.

Yes, you cn go by airport rail link as well. But the operating time will be from 6.00 a.m. till 12.00 a.m. Therefore, if the flight arrived later then the best way is to take taxi.
More information on schedule of airport rail link available here : http://airportraillink.railway.co.th/en/index.html
