Where to go from Prince Palace Hotel

Posted by adammont on 20/5/2011 at 20:55

Hi, a group of 4 of us have booked into the Prince Palace Hotel for 3 nights starting 10th july....not sure if that was a good idea or not going by reviews!!.... but we arent picky!

I just wanted to know how easy/hard it is to get to places of interest from here? we would like to see the temples, grand palace,MBK shopping centre, day tours etc and will be leaving Bangkok via the train to Kanchanaburi.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks

Adam

Hey Adam!

I stayed at the Prince Palace hotel a few years ago for a few nights over a friend's birthday weekend. Not at a bad place to stay at all and there are nice pools with great views (rooftop). The palace is located in a pretty local area so you will have plenty of street food options. The temples are a short taxi ride away and from what I remember, the hotel is not located near the sky train so you may have a bit of a cab ride to MBK - but really, everything you will want to do in BKK is nothing longer than a quick cab ride away anyways.

Enjoy!

actually at Prince Palace you are right on the Khlong Saen Saeb canal boat line (at Talad Bo Bae pier) with cheap, easy, and FAST access to the central shopping district (MBK), skytrain stations, Pratunam, Sukhumvit, Banglamphu/Old City sites, etc; an interesting and very local way to cross town out of traffic, no need for a taxi when you want to get out and explore
to learn a bit more about the canal line and where it can take you:

Thanks again!
