Hi
Has anyone done a round trip from Bangkok, through Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and back to Bangkok?
We are thinking of a 5-6 week trip. Thinking 2-3 weeks Vietnam, 1 week Cambodia, 1 week Laos, 1 week Northern Thailand.
Is this feasible? Will we be able to see the main touristy destinations in this time? We have been to BK before so not really necessary to do anything there apart from maybe a day of shopping.
Cheers
Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Have you seen this trip plan for Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam in our trip planner section?
It covers the countries concerned in a different order to what you're planning, but if you look at the table towards the bottom of the above page, you'll see the various transport options and the time required for each, so you should be able to piece something together from that.
In 5-6 weeks what you're considering is certainly doable.

Hi Debbie, We are just finishing this exact route. We did it in 10 weeks, but it would be very reasonable to do in 5-6. We flew to siem reap, then boat to phom pheng. In Vietnem, we also flew from Danang to Hanoi. Definatly do sapa, take the night train so you can save a day. Then we flew from Hanoi to Laung Probang, took the two day slow boat to Chaing Hong Thailand border and continued to Chaing Rai. We also loved Pai, worth the time to go. Fly from Chaing Mai to Bangkok. Air Asia or Bangkok Air offer very cheap airfares, sometimes cheaper than bus or train! So basically spend a little more to fly and then you will have more time to enjoy the destinations.
Good luck and have fun. Shelley
