No, no sense at all. I'd suggest just getting a cab upon arrival at the airport -- or even getting a 700B AOT "limo" (their term not mine!) upon arrival.

Thankyou Somtam - very strange as the hotel gets good reviews with "tripadvisor" and Lonely Planet.I'm off to catch a limo.

The extra 1000 may be a deposit fee in case you're a no-show, but even if it is it's still a pretty steep request.
Like Somtam says, just grab a cab outside the terminal. If you're arriving late at night expect to pay around B250 (plus thruway fees ... B65 in total) and the B50 service fee if you go from the airport taxi stand. If you leave from "Departures" you can avoid the B50 fee. So, around B300-B350 plus tip.
KSR is closed to traffic in the evening, so if you get a cab just tell them to take you to Khao San Road. You'll get dropped off at the top of the street. You can't miss your place. It'll be about 50m along the street on the right.
