Hi there,
Can anyone recommend a trek for 2 nights/3 days in Chiang Rai which skips the usual elephant riding tours and spends more time wandering through amazing scenery?

Go to Laos. What you're looking for is easy to find in Muang Sing, Luang Namtha, Vieng Phoukha, etc. inside the Nam Ha NBCA.
