Hi
we've experienced the floods in siem reap and phnom penh, heading to Laos tomorrow then onto Thailand next week for two weeks.
We're looking at koh samui then koh lanta, but are looking for a bit of sunshine, where are the best islands, weather wise, at this time of year?
We're checking weather sites non stop, we'd just like some advice!

Oct: might be sunny might be rainy as hell, worst month for advance weather predictions anywhere in Thailand. Good luck and don't forget to pack sunscreen and an umbrella.

I agree with CB. The Andaman coast is finishing their monsoon while the Gulf coast is starting theirs. So no telling what will happen.
