Hey guys,
Myself and my boyfriend flew into Chiang Mai on the 14th Oct to get our 30 day visa, unfortunately we have left ourselves short by two days. Our visa will run out on the 12th Nov but we need it until the 14th Nov. We are going to the Full Moon Party on the 11th Nov so we know that realistatically we will not be able to leave on the 12th.
We would like to know if anyone knows the situation with overstaying for two days, how much the fine is? And also does this effect future visits to Thailand??
If indeed it is wiser to get the extension we are in Thailand for the next month and if anyone knew which place it would be most convenient to get the extension from. Our itinery is Pai, Phuket, Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Krabi and ending in Koh Phangan.
If anyone has any advice we would greatly appreciate it!

You can do a visa run and get an extra 15 days by going to Ranong... see also: http://www.travelfish.org/board/post/thailand/13054_khao-sok-to-hat-yai---visa-run

Thanks altmtl thats a great help but unfortunately we fly to Phuket tonight at 11pm and only have one day in Phuket tomorrow before going to Phi Phi to a beach party. I dont think we could organise it as we won't arrive in our guesthouse until 1ish and the visa run goes at 7am. Do you know of anywhere else we can get it? Or do any companies to visa runs for you, where you just leave your passport in. We got this done in Cambodia and Vietnam.
To do a "visa run" or visa "extension" you have to go in person. A visa run (to the nearest border point) will waste a whole day of your trip so probably better to pay the 1900 baht at Immigration and get seven more days tacked onto your current visa-excempt stamp. Krabi would seem to be the most logical place to get it done. If you overstay your visa it's a 500 baht fine upon departure, but you risk real problems if caught by police overstaying so a pre-emptive extension is a smarter idea.
