From KL to Koh Lanta

    Flying to KL tomorrow and need an onward flight to Thailand to prove I'm leaving Malaysia. I want to start in Koh Lanta where I can chill for a bit and get my bearings. Which is the best way to do it out of the following?

    Fly to Hat Yai cheaply and then overland by bus?
    Fly to Krabi and get a boat from there?
    Fly to Phuket and get a boat?

    Any opinion would be great. Booking this in the next 2 - 3 hours.

    if you haven't already booked this. I would try and get a cheap Air Asia flight to Krabi, from there outside the airport are minivans to take to you over to Lanta. This would be the quickest.
