My friend and I are headed for Phuket from the 15th to the 19th of March, and we do not have a room booked. We are budget to mid- range travelers (1000 to 1500BHT/night) and are hoping for a nice beach holiday with a lot of shopping, food and some nightlife. But as we are both girls, safety is a concern. Is Patong beach a good place to start, or should we head for someplace more quiet but also with some life like Kata. Advice please. Thanks
