Do you mean "as the crow flies" i.e. through Burma and Bangladesh? If so, the answer is no (assuming you're not a national of one of those countries); land borders in Burma are not open to foreigners travelling across the country.
If you have a huge amount of time (and cash) on your hands then it should be possible to go Thailand - Laos - China - Tibet (that's the part that'll require a lot of cash) - Nepal - India (crossing from western Nepal into Darjeeling). That's a long way round!
Quickest way is a flight from Bangkok to Calcutta and then an overnight train to Darjeeling!

Is it possible to travel from Bangkok to Darjeeling on land only? (no flights). Has anyone done this? Is it safe? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!
