Can anyone help on this one? Wanting to fly from Bankgok to Siem Reap one way.
The advertised flights on Internet all seem a bit exorbitant. Is it possible to arrange flight in Bangkok through local agents and is the price cheaper than those advertised on the net?
Thanks heaps

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately it's an expensive route -- largely due to the monopoly that Bangkok Airways has. Buying through an agent in Thailand/Cambodia will not be any cheaper as far as I know.
The only way to bring down the cost is to get a Discovery Airpass, but you need to be doing three regional flights to make that worthwhile -- see the Bangkok Airways website for more information.

other alternative is the minibus to siem riep, long day but very cheap. Actually about a 7 hour journey but they normally take longer so that you arrive at night and stay at the hotel where they get commission. OR fly to Phnom Phen, a fantastic city, stay a few days and take the boat up to Siem riep........you will be glad that you did.
