Hi,

is there any recommendation how to get the closest railway station from bus station in Surat Thani?since i've planned to go to Phuket from Indonesia, i want to stay in phuket for several days, and get back to Indonesia from Bangkok after that.
Thanks in advance

If you are already in Phuket , you could always fly directly from there to Bangkok. That would be the easiest option and probably not that much more money than going overland if you bought a ticket with a discount airline.
If your plan is to take the bus from Phuket to Surat Thani , and then pick up the train to Bangkok from there, just catch a bus from the Surat Thani bus station to the train station. The nearest train station is in Phun Phin, about 12 or 15 km from Surat Thani. Hope that helps. Good luck.

this Q need not to be, mas.
the regular buses Phu-Surat all stop ALSO at the train station named Surat (which is in Phun Phin). For a direct trip to BKK from Phu-use a direct bus-much quicker, cheaper as the combo and can be just as comfy. Better as most bas patas malam in Indo. However, the regular orang putih on this board will try to steer you into the kereta api.
You can also fly pretty cheap HKT-BKK on a nr of low-cost airlines, like AirAsia, NOKair or ThaiOrient
But If you persist_ just ask when in Surat (overslept?)-and there is the regular citybus running ev 5/6 mins or so-untill about 19.00, from BOTH busstations in Surat.
selamat jalan.
