I'm wondering if anyone could help me out...
I'm going to be in Krabi, then I'd like to (ideally) head straight to Sangkhlaburi w/o going to Bangkok first.
Does anyone know if the minibuses in Krabi go there -- or near enough?

Krabi to Sangkhla direct - highly unlikely. You may though be able to get a tourist minibus to Kanchanaburi from Krabi -- maybe. Only other option is to go as far as Ratchaburi and then change buses there for transport to Kanchanaburi and then change again for Sangkhlaburi.
Another option would be to take a night bus from Krabi to Bangkok then jump straight onto a morning bus to Kanchanaburi (leave from Sai Tai Mai every twenty minutes or so), then on to Sangkhlaburi.
