Hi,
My boyfriend and I are planning on visiting Thailand next year for 2 weeks for the first time. I know it is a short time to visit Thailand and that is why I have been trailing through websites investigating when would be the best time to go and what are the most important and most worthwhile things to see and do when we are there.
I would really appreciate if you could share your experiences with me and maybe help in pointing me in the right direction.

Depends what interests you. There is no set of perfect activities that everybody likes.

Sorry yeah I made it a bit vague. First time posting on a forum.
I was meant to put that we plan to fly into Bangkok then maybe stop somewhere between Bangkok and Chiang Mai and fly down to the islands from there.
We are interested in maybe doing a elephant trek, bamboo rafting, diving in particular.
My partner has been to Ayutthaya before so instead of him visiting it twice, is there another place to go to see temples or would it be the best to go back there.
I am very interested in Kanchanaburi and taking the boat ride to the waterfalls. Is this worthwhile doing?
We also want to go to the full moon party but what other island would you recommend maybe to relax and do a bit of diving and snorkelling.
Thank you in advance for your help.

travelblog.org is a good site to read about others experiences etc.
If your going to Koh Phangan for your full moon party you could then go to nearby Koh Tao for your diving and snorkelling.
elephant trek & bamboo rafting - 1 day trip out of Chiang Mai
temple place between BKK & CM other than Ayutthaya - check out Sukhothai

Hi
If you will come after May,
I suggestion you visit the beaches on the gulf side (Koh Tao, Koh Phangan , Koh Kood , Koh Samui ,Koh Samet)
a little bit guide
Koh Samui (big) or Koh Tao (it's small island)
You can go both ways by bus 'Lomprayah' is okay or fly ,
for visit other islands you can buy packages tour on the island.
It's beautiful and nice place for diving, snorkeling aswell.
Chiang Mai ,you can do both ways by train and fly (for save time) for cheap flights look for AirAsia.
you can enjoy Trekking,Cave,Beatiful Temples , Good Food. but this month it getting hot.
If you like historical sites just visit '' Sukhothai '' or '' Ayutthaya ''
you still can travel to Andaman side (Phuket,Krabi,Trang,Phang Nga) but don't go there after mid May because it's starting rainy.
