I’m planning a 26 day trip to Southeast Asia.
My priorities are:
1. Angkor Wat (3 days)
2. Thai Beach (3 days)
3. Luang Prabang (2 days)
4. Gibbon Experience (2 days)
5. 4,000 Islands (2 days)
6. Trekking (1 day)
I tried to link it together counter clock-wise on the map, ending with the beach in late October. I have two unplanned days. Any advice? Comments? Concerns?
1- Bangkok
2- Sukhotai stopover [bus]
3- Chiang Mai
4- Chiang Mai based trek
5- Chiang Rai stopover [bus]
6- [Bus to] Huay Xai
7- Gibbon Exp
8- Gibbon Exp
9- Slow boat to LP
10- Slow Boat to LP
11- Luang Prabang

13- [Fly to] Pakse, [bus to] Don Det
14- 4,000 Islands
15- 4,000 Islands
16- [bus to] Pakse
17- [morning Fly to] Siem Reap – Angkor W
18- Angkor Wat

20- [Fly to] Phuket

23- Phuket; [fly to] Bangkok
24- Cushion Day
25- Cushion Day
26- Depart
Should I go from 4,000 Islands to Siem Reap by land, stopping in Kratie and Phnom Penh?
Any advice? Comments? Concerns?
Thanks!

I think you're trying to do way too much. At the very least drop the bit from day 13 (fly to Pakse) to day 17. ie the southern Laos bit. Use those extra days spending a bit more time in the places you really wish to see.

What you say makes some semse but I would agree Nokka - less is more. Focus on your six priority places and add more time on to them.
Two days in Luang Prabang is not enough - think 4 or 5 minimum.
Also, take more than 3 days on a beach at the end - why not 5 or 6 days of bliss before heading home?
Including getting a flavour of Siem Reap, you will need 4 or 5 days for Angkor and SR.
Add on trekking and the Gibbon Experience to that, as well as travel in the region, particularly Laos, and you have more than enough planned. I think even skip Si Phan Don (4k Islands) as it is hard to get to.
Plan:
Bangkok-SR (bus or fly); try spend some time in Bangkok seen as you land there.
Then fly SR-Luang Prabang (Vietnam or Lao Airlines)
Then up to Luang Nam Tha or Muang Sing for some trekking and on to the Gibbon Experience then.
Then get back into Thailand and fly down to the islands (via BKK if necessary).
Trust me, this is more than enough in less than 4 weeks.
Enjoy, relax and soak up the places you go to.
